I am one of those strange people who get excited to see a fresh tablet of paper and a great writing pen on my desk! What can I say, some people get happy when their pizza is delivered or they get presents & ice-cream on their birthday; to me a new journal or notebook is the doorway to anything my imagination can dream of! I have been an avid reader and writer since I was in first grade and won a trip to the visiting circus for reading the most books (and writing the most book reports) in my elementary school. 😄
I can still remember the excitement of reading Tolkien’s “The Hobbit” for the very first time a few years later. If I were not already hooked on the language arts, our handsome English teacher that year (Mr. Leach) set our young minds on fire when he introduced us to Bilbo Baggins! To realize that there literally are no limits to where a good book or a pen and paper can take you, is beyond magical in it’s revelation!
Somewhere during those youthful years I realized that there was an amazing God who imagined this incredible world into being! As I got to know Him, I found that my faith further stimulated my imagination as well as my desire to write……and seeking and sharing Truth became another passionate reason to put my pen to paper!
I am a firm believer in the power of the written word and particularly love writing when I know I am part of providing something that is truly helpful to another person. While I can competently write about nearly anything if I have enough information, what I love to write about the most, are things that are meaningful. I am motivated by writing about subjects that will help YOU, as well as play a part in making the world a better place. If your project matters and will help make a difference in someone’s life (in big or small ways), then I sincerely hope you will give me a chance to write for you! I have been writing for myself and others for over 40 years; creating, sharing, teaching, selling and trying to over-flow with the words given to me along this journey! I’d love for you to be part of that experience!
My hubby and I currently live on a small farm in Virginia, thankful for our bit of God’s green earth. We live with 7 cats, one great little Corgi mix watchdog as well as a couple of Alpine Goats & twenty some chickens and guinea fowl with loads of personality! I find that animals, creation, children and human nature are great fodder to kick-start any writer into gear! Other life experiences as Counselor, Nutritional Consultant, Exotic Cat Breeder, Farmer/Gardener, Tutor, Small Business Owner, Realty Administrator, etc. have contributed much to my data base as well.
